SCOTT ROSS

Scott, along with his wife Carol, have owned and operated Personally Fit for ten years. He has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and is a certified Exercise Specialist by the American College of Sportsmedicine. Scott’s expertise includes injury reconditioning, sports training and fitness programming for those challenged with problems associated with aging.

CAROL ROSS
Personal & Group Fitness Trainer, Specialty Training

Carol, along with her husband Scott, have owned and operated Personally Fit for ten years. She holds a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and is a certified Exercise Specialist by the American College of Sportsmedicine. Carol has over 15 years experience in designing and implementing fitness programs for individuals of all ages, capabilities and desires. Her specialties include training those in their “golden years”, pre and post natal fitness and sports specific exercise conditioning.

LENA RYMAN
Personal Fitness Trainer, Specialty & Group Instructor

Lena is a certified personal trainer with over 15 years experience in the field of fitness. She has worked with clients of varying ages and levels of fitness including athletes, teenagers and seniors. Lena is originally from the Chicago area where she graduated from the University of Illinois and subsequently owned her own in-home personal training business on the North Shore. Her personal background includes many years of dance training and later bodybuilding before pursuing a career in personal fitness training. She is a member of the IDEA Association of FItness Professionals and currently trains clients both at Personally Fit and in-home in the Rancho Santa Fe area.

LEE POSTMA
Personal Fitness Trainer, PowerGolf Fitness, Thai Yoga Therapy

Lee is an ACE (American Council of Exercise) Certified Personal Trainer, who is also completing his massage therapy training. As one who specializes in golf fitness training, he has published a golf exercise video (PowerGolf Fitness with Lee Postma) which can be found at www.collagevideo.com. Lee’s motivating coaching skills and knowledge of muscle physiology provide quantifiable results for his clients. He is available for appointments at Personally Fit as well as in-home in the Rancho Santa Fe area.

ELYCE NISSINOFF
Personal & Group Fitness Trainer, Post-Rehabilitative Training

Elyce is an ACE (American Council of Exercise) certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor. Her love for athletics, physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle led her to this career in 1995. As a group instructor she has taught a wide variety of classes including hi/lo cardio, body sculpting, stretch. slide and pre/post natal. As a trainer, she develops programs and workouts to help clients realize their personal fitness goals. Elyce is certified in Mat and Floor Pilates through West Coast Pilates and on Apparatus through Physical Mind Institute. When you can’t find her at the gym, look for her on the courts.

CLARIS LEVIN
Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Instructor

Claris was born in Mexico City and, as a college student, moved to Denver, Colorado where she graduated from Denver University in 1982 with a double major in Psychology and Education. While in Colorado, Claris began working in the fitness industry and became certified by the American Council of Exercise (ACE) in 1986. She and her family relocated to San Diego in 1988 where she continued to train and further her expertise by obtaining several more professional fitness certifications from AFFA and joining the American College of Sportsmedicine (ACSM). Claris enjoys traveling, scuba diving, movies, and spending time with her husband and two teenage sons.

MELISSA WOGAHN
Personal & Group Fitness Trainer, Specialty Training

Melissa Wogahn has been a health and fitness professional for 20 years. She received her Masters Degree in Exercise physiology from the University of Southern California and is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Melissa’s extensive background includes work as a clinical exercise physiologist for the Pasadena Rehabilitation Institute where she managed and prescribed exercise programs for chronic pain patients, including those with fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, low back pain and autoimmune disorders. She has also owned and operated a health and fitness-consulting firm and was program director for Pritikin Programs, Inc. Today, she chooses to balance her time at Personally Fit, at home and volunteering at her children’s school.

KASEY SALGADO
Personal Fitness Trainer

Kasey has been involved in fitness and athletics all of her life. Because of this love for a healthy lifestyle, she studied and obtained a degree in Physical Education and has been working as a certified Fitness Professional for over ten years. She motivates, educates and trains people of all ages (from the very young to the mature adult) to exercise at their optimum for optimal results. Kasey’s motto is, “If you can breathe, you can exercise”. Outside the gym walls, she continues to enjoy many activities such as surfing, mountain bike riding and keeping up with her three year old daughter, Kayla.

SUE GRANT
Personal Trainer, Senior Fitness Specialist

Sue Grant is certified as a personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and received her training through UCSD’s Fitness Professional Certificate program. Sue is also certified as a Balance and Mobility Specialist Instructor from the Center for Successful Aging at California State University, Fullerton. Sue specializes in senior fitness and has completed several advanced programs to increase her knowledge and support her love for training the active adult... and those that are not so active, as well! Most importantly, Sue’s lifelong love for fitness is contagious – she’s always looking for new ways to keep her classes lively and full of laughter!

 

MARA CARRICO
Yoga, Pilates, Bodywork (massage)

Mara has been associated with Personally Fit since 1994 and has an extensive background in dance and movement therapy. She is a recognized continuing education specialist for the American Council on Exercise (ACE), a founding member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and has been teaching yoga since 1971. Carrico is the author of Yoga Journal's Yoga Basics and the choreographer of Jane Fonda's Yoga Exercise Workout video. She conducts weekly yoga and stretch/Pilates classes at Personally Fit and is also available for private instruction and massage.

LISA NORDQUIST
Personal Coach & Trainer, Wellness Educator

Lisa is a certified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor with American Council on Exercise (ACE) and Fitness Professionals International (FPI). She has a Bachelors degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Health Behaviors. As a solo-preneur, Lisa has operated a corporate and in-home fitness and coaching business since 1999. She also maintains an active speaking schedule throughout San Diego County and expects publication of her first book in late 2002.

TERRY MILLER
Feldenkrais Practitioner, Sounder Sleep Instructor, Yoga Meditation

Terry, a North County native, has been teaching the Feldenkrais Awareness through Movement™ classes at Personally Fit for over five years. She also instructs the Feldenkrais Method of Functional Integration in a one-on-one format by appointment only. Terry has been involved in teaching The Method since 1994 when she became Certified by the Feldenkrais Guild of North America. She also leads groups in Yoga Meditation and Sounder Sleep programs to improve restlessness, reduce fatigue and enhance general well-being.
